Perio-Prostho
Residency
Overview
A multidisciplinary approach to implant rehabilitation
Directed by PAULO CARVALHO
€1500 month / 7 month
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the course is to enable participants to diagnose, plan, and perform oral rehabilitation with dental implants in a multidisciplinary manner. Participants will learn to plan cases ranging from simple single implants to complex multiple and full-arch cases, always using a prosthetically guided reverse approach.
The interaction between Periodontology and Prosthetics will always be present, with strong emphasis on peri-implant plastic surgery techniques to optimize soft tissues for a correct emergence profile. Participants will perform not only the prosthetic rehabilitation phase on implants but also subsequent treatment phases, which include mucogingival surgeries around implants and bridges, along with corresponding soft tissue management with provisionals.
All rehabilitation will be supported by the latest digital technologies, aiming to familiarize participants with all the tools that represent the state of the art in this field.
MATERIAL
No specific materials or instruments are required, except for your personal laptop. Everything will be provided by the Training Center for practical sessions. However, the use of a personal camera with a macro lens and twin or ring flash is considered an added value for maximizing the learning experience.

Frequently
asked questions
Dr. Paulo Carvalho is the pedagogical director of the program.
All practical and theoretical–practical sessions are carried out side by side under his direct supervision.
The limited number of participants ensures full availability of time and focus, allowing for complete individualization and personalization of the training process.
Most theoretical classes are also taught by Dr. Paulo, while certain specialized topics within the curriculum feature guest lecturers.
The program has a duration of 7 months.
Because this is a long-term residency, it is not possible to pre-schedule the procedures that will be available, as is typically done in a weekend training or even in a modular course.
The spirit of this residency is to be present in a real clinical environment, with all the unpredictability that comes with it regarding the number and type of clinical cases.
In recent editions, participants performed a wide range of procedures, including various types of connective tissue grafts, ridge-volume augmentation with soft-tissue regeneration, root and implant recession coverage, full-arch implant cases (FP1-type), immediate loading with partial and full provisionalization, immediate implants, bone regeneration procedures, and prosthetic rehabilitation across multiple case types.
The residency has a cost of €1,500 per month.
We are exempt from VAT.
Always on Wednesdays, unless, by agreement of all participants, an exceptional adjustment becomes necessary during the program.
There are only 8 available seats.
The goal is to maintain a limited and highly selective group of participants, ensuring a substantial volume of clinical cases for each pair and allowing the instructor to dedicate full attention to every student.
We ask you to submit an application form. After sending your application, we would like to meet you. We will show you our facilities, equipment, and how the current residency operates. We will answer any questions you may have. We will listen to your expectations, and you will hear ours.
There are a few premises that must be clear before applying.
Residents are expected to demonstrate full commitment and respect for all house rules, including the clinic’s operational guidelines and the overall well-being of patients.
Even though participants are paying for the program, this does not exempt them from responsibility nor allow them to disregard the commitment and objectives of the residency. Therefore, repeated lateness or unjustified absences will not be tolerated, and a minimum attendance rate is required.
It is essential to know how to work as part of a team and to avoid occupying the space or time dedicated to fellow residents.
The residency requires availability to plan clinical cases and communicate with laboratories outside residency hours, when necessary.
The use of magnification loupes and a camera is not mandatory but is strongly recommended.
